My thanks to the officers and committee for a well run and happy show, also to my 2 excellent stewards who made my job easy with their efficient assistance. My overall impression was that a few of the dogs were carrying a little too much weight which does not help movement and that the breed as a whole is getting larger, movement on the whole was better than when I judged last however some still move too close behind and with not enough reach in front. Eyes and pigment were very good, top lines, tail set and reach of neck also good. Teeth were mixed, but as long as the jaw is broad I can forgive this. I was very pleased with the quality of the exhibits, particularly the puppies which bodes well for the breed and I was able to find what I was looking for in the breed. Best of Breed and Bitch CC Zeeva Love Unlimited for Maili, Dog CC and Res Best In Show Ch Zamadar Majic Potion for Cedarhythe, Best puppy Zeeva Zafirah and Best Veteran Ch Daltricia Kratos |

I would like to thank the secretary and committee of the Shih Tzu Club of Scotland for inviting me to judge this lovely friendly show and for looking after me so well during my stay, also to my two very efficient stewards who made my day easy and the exhibitors for entering and giving me some quality dogs to judge. My overall opinion was that there is a variance of type and size in the breed, movement is still a problem that never seems to go away with some moving too close behind giving the impression of only having one leg and others paddling in front or too wide. Eyes on the whole were good, dark and round, pigment did not seem to be a problem, top lines were mostly good although a few did rise toward the rear. I only found a few with narrow chest. I was pleased to see a few of what I call old type Shih Tzu, these can be rather stubborn and more difficult to show but for me just gorgeous and as always presentation was excellent. My winners had all the necessary attributes I was looking for. Best bitch & BIS Zeeva Letz Do It, Best dog & BOS Miracey All Guns Blazin, BPIS was the dog Miracey Rebel Rider, RDCC Tameron Mr Red Edition, RBCC Santosha Sweet Cherry. |
